Tout a commencé dans un pub. C’était la seule chanson irlandaise que je connaissais par cœur
et Pierre Jean s’est proposé de me suivre.
C’était le début d’une belle histoire et un soir, dans une jolie maison creusoise, il nous a semblé
que la mort de la douce Molly Malone ne se faisait pas assez sentir, que ce n’était pas assez
dramatique. Et c’est ainsi qu’en ajoutant notre variation triste et plaintive, nous avions
l’impression de rendre davantage honneur à son destin tragique ; mais tout en reprenant le
thème initial sur la fin pour rappeler que malgré tout, la mélodie de Molly vit encore, tel un
fantôme qui rôde dans les rues de Dublin…
